Organon, a new company dedicated to women's health, launches APJ HQ in Singapore

The APJ HQ will be supported by Swati Garg, HR Lead for SEA, who is based in Singapore; while the HR team for the region will be led by Naoki Ohta, Executive Director of HR, based in Japan.

Organon, a new women's health company, has launched as the only global company of its size focused on women’s health, it announced in a press release. In line with this, on 3 June 2021, the company opened its Asia Pacific & Japan headquarters at Gateway West on Beach Road, Singapore.

In response to Human Resources Online's query on why Singapore was chosen for the HQ, Organon said: "It was selected as the headquarters because of Singapore’s strategic location as a regional hub and existing presence of Organon's Supply Chain operations in Singapore."

As also shared with Human Resources Online, this new HQ will be supported by Singapore-based Swati Garg, HR Director, the HR Lead for the South, East, and Southeast Asia region (SEA); partnering with Andreas Jorgensen, Managing Director for the region.

Meanwhile, the HR team for the region will be led by Naoki Ohta, Executive Director of HR, who is based in Japan.

Organon currently employers 1,000 people in APAC, in roles across commercial, manufacturing, R&D, HR, finance, and more, and will be focus on "delivering impactful medicines and solutions for a healthier every day for women, their families and communities."

It currently has presence in the following markets across APJ:

  • Australia, Japan, Korea, and Thailand
  • SEA (South, East and Southeast Asia) cluster: Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

Commenting on Organon's official launch, Kaja Natland, who leads the entire brand in APJ, said: "We are very excited to launch Organon around the world. We build upon our strong foundation of more than 60 established medicines and solutions across a range of areas including reproductive health, heart disease, breast cancer, allergies, and asthma.

"As a new company, we will begin by listening to women’s healthcare needs, big and small, enabling us to explore treatments options -- because we know there is so much more we can do for women and their health."
