Sabah reaches 70% vaccination levels, will allow cross-state travel from 1 Nov 2021

Cross-district travel within the state is now allowed, provided individuals have been completely vaccinated; those aged 12 to 18 years have received at least one dose of vaccine, and children below 12 years of age are accompanied by parents who are fully vaccinated.

In a recent statement dated 13 October 2021, the Sabah State Government expressed satisfaction with the vaccination percentage report by the Committee as numbers reached over 70%.

Subsequently, cross-district travel is now allowed statewide from 14 October 2021, for the following groups:

  1. Individuals have been completely vaccinated;
  2. Adolescents aged 12 to 18 years who have received at least one dose of vaccine;
  3. Children below 12 years of age, accompanied by parents who are fully vaccinated.

The State Government has also agreed to allow cross-state travel from 1 November 2021. Admission to Sabah, including for purposes of social visits and tourism, is allowed provided:

  1. Individuals have been completely vaccinated;
  2. Travellers undergo a COVID-19 RT-PCR or RTK-Ag test (swab/saliva) within three days prior to travel;
  3. Adolescents aged 12 to 18 years have received at least one dose of vaccine;
  4. Children below 12 years of age are accompanied by parents who are fully vaccinated.
