The partnership seeks to empower more women to enter and grow in the workforce, sealing their partnership under the MyWira Women Tour programme.
Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp) and Wanita Berdaya Selangor, under the Selangor State Government, have formalised a partnership to enhance women’s workforce participation through the Jelajah Wanita MyWira outreach programme.
The MoU was signed during the MyWira Women's Convention 2025 at IDCC Shah Alam, with YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor, and YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Minister of KESUMA, witnessing the signing. They affirmed their shared goal of expanding career opportunities for women in Selangor. YB Anfaal Saari, EXCO of Women Development and Social Welfare of Selangor was also present.
Speaking at the convention to an audience of 500, Dato’ Seri Amirudin highlighted the Selangor Government’s dedication to women’s empowerment through economic participation in line with the Selangor Women's Policy and Action Plan 2024-2026 and the First Selangor Plan (RS-1).
"This collaboration with KESUMA and TalentCorp is timely and will ensure that women in Selangor, especially those from grassroots and middle-income groups, receive the necessary support, skills, and opportunities to thrive," he said.
Jelajah Wanita MyWira aims to provide on-ground engagement, skills-building, and workforce reintegration support for women at all levels. Running from April to November 2025, the programme will reach 56 constituencies across Selangor, connecting women with career opportunities, workforce incentives and employability programmes. Plans are also in place to expand the initiative to Penang, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak.
Minister Sim said that the government is committed to bridging gender gaps in employment through Wanita MyWira, a platform for coordinating women’s empowerment initiatives under TalentCorp, including the Career Comeback Programme.
“We must ensure women have equal opportunities to rejoin and excel in the workforce. Through Jelajah Wanita MyWira, we aim to empower 1.4 million women in Selangor by providing direct access to empowerment opportunities and employment incentives under the MADANI Government," he said.
