Several long holidays are in store this year, allowing for more days of domestic or international travel.
The government of Thailand has announced three additional public holiday dates for 2025, giving workers more breaks to rest, travel domestically, and enjoy and cultural festivities or traditions.
There are several long holidays also known as ‘Bridge Holidays’ that have been added, said to honour key cultural and historical events.
The new holidays for 2025 are as follows:
Monday, 2 June – A Bridge Holiday to the Queen’s birthday on 3 June, making it a four-day long holiday.
Monday, 11 August – A Bridge Holiday intended to create a four-day holiday in conjunction with Mother’s Day on 12 August.
2 January – Starting from the next New Year celebration, an additional holiday has been added to extend celebrations from 31 December to 4 January.

According to The Nation, Commerce Minister Phumtham Wechayachai said in a Cabinet meeting on 12 November 2024 that the new holidays will promote "Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025". People can expect a higher influx of tourists and the ability to plan for longer trips this year.
