Up the ranks: EPF appoints Iwan Azlan Mokhtar as Chief Human Resources Officer

In this role, Iwan will not only spearhead HR initiatives, but also lead two departments: People Matters and EPF Learning Campus.

Malaysia's Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP), or the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), has appointed Iwan Azlan Mokhtar as its Chief Human Resources Officer, effective 24 September 2021. In this role, Iwan Azlan will drive human resources initiatives towards organisational transformation while developing the strategic direction of the Human Resources Division. He will also oversee the management of two departments, i.e. People Matters Department and EPF Learning Campus.

Prior to joining the EPF, he plied his trade at MISC as VP of Human Resources from 2009 to 2020, before moving to Tenaga Nasional as Chief People Officer in 2020. Before these roles, Iwan was with Shell Group for 17 years, performing various human resource roles. In total, he has been in the human resources field for approximately 29 years.

With this appointment, Iwan will be joining the rest of the EPF senior management team, led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amir Hamzah Azizan; Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Rohaya Mohammad Yusof; Chief Operation Officer (COO) Sazaliza Zainuddin; Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) Nurhisham Hussein; Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Mohamad Hafiz Kassim, and Chief Digital Technology Officer Muhammad Afhzal Abdul Rahman.
