Winning Secrets: Taokaenoi Food & Marketing believes when employees are empowered to achieve personal aspirations, the company will exceed business ambitions

As Prin Pitchayavijit, Chief People Officer, elaborates — HR are the architects of this delicate balance, ensuring that personal fulfillment and organisational success go hand-in-hand.

In the past year, Taokaenoi Food & Marketing has embarked on significant changes to drive sustainable growth.  By ensuring that its people's personal fulfillment and organisational success go hand-in-hand, the team hopes to drive this growth. Together, the organisation hopes to promote a culture of data-driven decision-making.

With this, the team has won several awards at the HR Excellence Awards 2024 in Thailand, namely:

  • Silver for 'Excellence in Business Transformation'
  • Silver for 'Excellence in Work-Life Harmony'

Prin Pitchayavijit, Chief People Officer, shares more on how Taokaenoi Food & Marketing enhances its decision-making processes by utilising data to support decisions, while also increasing speed and diversity of perspectives.

Q What was the motivation that sparked your passion & business case for pursuing your outstanding people strategy?

At Tao Kae Noi, we are driven by an unwavering commitment to not only grow our business but to elevate the lives of the incredible people who stand alongside us in this journey. Our vision is bold: we believe that when our employees are empowered to achieve their personal aspirations, the company, in turn, will exceed its business ambitions.

As HR, we are the architects of this delicate balance, ensuring that personal fulfillment and organisational success go hand-in-hand. This synergy is the heartbeat of our sustainable growth, propelling Tao Kae Noi toward an extraordinary future where both our people and the business soar to new heights together.

Q Looking back, can you share a challenge that you overcame in your journey of HR excellence? How did you triumph?

In the past year, Tao Kae Noi has embarked on significant changes to drive sustainable growth, with the key project named "Golden" at the heart of this transformation. This project focuses on enhancing decision-making processes by utilising data to support decisions, while also increasing speed and diversity of perspectives.

We have implemented comprehensive process improvements, redesigning and introducing new systems, as well as adopting advanced technologies like SAC Analytic Cloud and Business Intelligence tools to provide clear data support for decision-making.

Additionally, we emphasise cross-functional collaboration, bringing together teams from various departments to facilitate the exchange of ideas and diverse experiences, which helps us solve problems and identify opportunities more effectively. To support these efforts, we have the "Can Do" initiative that includes conducting process improvement workshops, Key User Training (KUT), End User Training (EUT), and hosting a project recognition event to motivate and enhance the skills of all employees.

Looking ahead, our company will promote a culture of data-driven decision-making, using tools like data dashboards to present necessary information clearly. We will integrate these approaches into our new GREAT culture to create an environment where data-based decision-making becomes easy and second nature for everyone. We are confident that this journey will lead to a future full of growth and success for us all.

Q Beyond the recognition, what impact do you hope your feature in the HR Excellence Awards would have on the HR community and manpower landscape?

First and foremost, it will enhance our recruitment branding, allowing us to position ourselves as a leading employer. This, in turn, will help us attract high-quality talent.

Additionally, we aim to strengthen our existing talent pipeline, particularly by collaborating with universities. By building relationships with educational institutions, we can engage with students and emerging professionals, ensuring we have a steady stream of qualified candidates.

Improving our candidate experience is another critical focus.

We want to create a process that is not only efficient but also respectful and engaging, ensuring that every candidate feels valued throughout their journey with us.

This positive experience will further bolster our reputation as an employer of choice.

Moreover, this recognition will instill a sense of pride among our team members, motivating them to perform at their best. Knowing that their efforts are acknowledged drives commitment and passion within our organisation.

Ultimately, this recognition serves as a starting point for us in HR to continually improve our practices. We are committed to learning from this achievement and using it as motivation to refine our strategies, enhance our operations, and elevate our standards even further.

Q Could you share some advice you would give to others aspiring to follow in your footsteps?

For those looking to follow in my footsteps, here are two important pieces of advice:

Understand your business agenda: It's essential to know your organisation's goals and objectives. Take the time to understand both short-term and long-term goals, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and the overall mission of the business. This knowledge will help you make better decisions and communicate the agenda clearly with your team.

Create a strategy to balance business success and people success: It’s important to find a balance between achieving business goals and supporting employee development. Set goals that focus on both financial success and the growth of your team. Create a positive work environment by supporting learning opportunities, encouraging open communication, and taking care of your team's well-being.

By focusing on these two areas—understanding your business agenda and balancing work success with people success—you can make a meaningful impact in your organisation and grow in your HR career.

Q Let's talk inspiration! Who has been a driving force behind your success?

Our CEO plays a crucial role in guiding and supporting us in shaping our future. With a clear vision of the direction the organisation should take, the CEO helps us define essential milestones that will lead us toward our ultimate objectives and purpose.

Through the support of our CEO, we are able to analyse the business environment and identify new opportunities for growth. Having a well-defined roadmap instills confidence as we move forward, allowing every member of the organisation to understand their role in this journey.

Moreover, the CEO’s ability to foster a collaborative and open work environment enables us to feel part of this journey and encourages us to share our thoughts openly. This collaborative spirit allows us to develop the best strategies collectively to reach our goals.

This support not only helps us identify paths to growth but also inspires everyone to work together wholeheartedly toward achieving our shared vision. Together, we are making our aspirations a reality and building a bright future for the organisation.
