Wondering what you can do to show how much your employees and your team mean to you on this special day? No worries, the team at Human Resources Online has got your back.

As a leader, employee recognition is key to a successful and efficient workforce. With Employee Appreciation Day coming up (falling on the first Friday of March annually), this is a time to honour employees everywhere for their hard work and effort. After all, a team that feels valued will be more motivated to put in their best work.

Wondering what you can do to show your appreciation for your employees on Employee Appreciation Day tomorrow (4 March 2022)? No worries, the team at Human Resources Online has got you. With so many ways to show your appreciation, here are 10 Arina Sofiah has curated to let your employees know you truly cherish them.

Team lunch

They say food is the way to the heart so why not treat your employees to a lovely meal? You can take the time to truly catch up with them beyond the workplace while enjoying some good food.

Snacks and goodies

Similarly, your employees are sure to appreciate delicious snacks, especially if it Is some homemade baked goods! Take the time to prepare treats such as brownies, cookies, chocolates, or even cakes. If baking is not your forte, there are many places to get these goodies from — they'll appreciate it just as much. For us at HRO, we sure love receiving little surprises in the form of baked goods from our Editor (she makes the best chocolate cakes).

Team trip

In the same light as taking some time outside of the office, organise a trip to the local park for some fresh air. If you want to go all out, a small retreat with your employees will definitely provide them with some fond, long-lasting memories!

In-office or remote activities

Take some time to relax and have fun through exciting activities such as mini-games. These activity sessions serve as an opportunity to strengthen bonds with your employees. It is also easy to make this idea remote-friendly as there are many activities that can be conducted online such as trivia games and pop quizzes.

A note of appreciation

Consider writing a personal, heartfelt note expressing your appreciation for your employees. Addressing their personal contributions and milestones, will signify that you truly recognise your employees' efforts and contributions.

Awards night

Host your own awards ceremony! Even a simple light-hearted ceremony celebrating silly awards can be a fun activity to get to know your employees better. Or, you can even go on a more earnest route and genuinely award your employees for their achievements.

Trinkets and baubles

It doesn't have to be anything too extravagant or expensive. Little gifts to spice up their desks are a good token of appreciation for your employees and to let them know you're truly thinking of them beyond work.

Care package

It goes without saying that your employees' wellbeing matters. Provide your employees with a care package filled with the right items they need to pamper themselves, such as tea packets and skincare products.

Time off

The idea that's on all of your employees' minds! While time is money, it is important to ensure all your employees have the opportunity to recharge and enjoy themselves. Surprise them with a half-day off, and we're confident both you and your employees would feel good about it.

'Thank you!'

This last one goes beyond Employee Appreciation Day. As small a gesture it is, simply thanking your employees for their hard work and efforts can go a long way in making them feel appreciated.
