Themed “Your Future At Our Heart,” the career day will also have roles in financial management, real estate investment, and more.

Chinachem announced on 13 May that it will host a career day on Buddha's Birthday (19 May), providing about 500 positions for Hongkongers.

Themed “Your Future At Our Heart,” the event is primarily targeted at applicants who are interested in the group's Central Market revitalisation project. Partnering with the Urban Renewal Authority, Chinachem aims to transform Hong Kong's historic landmark Central Market into a retail space for local brands.

The one-day event is expected to provide up to 200 vacancies with ties to the Central Market Revitalisation Project, including roles in property management, food and beverage, customer service, IT and leasing. The rest of the job openings include positions at Nina Park, a wood fossil museum and the group's real estate, hotel, and food and beverage businesses.

Apart from traditional fields such as financial management, real estate investment, shopping mall leasing, corporate communications, property management, property sales and engineering departments, hospitality and F&B operations, newly-created roles such as curator and business intelligence manager, as well as in-demand roles such as digital marketing analyst can also be found on that day.

In light of the ongoing pandemic, measures will be put in place for social distancing.

The property developer invites interested candidates to register online in advance and arrive at the Central Market site at the designated time.

There will be seven booths at the career day to introduce the hiring companies and details of job openings. Candidates can submit their resumés at the booths to arrange for a potential on-site interview. For some of the positions, they will know whether they got hired or not immediately.

Donald Choi, Group Executive Director and CEO, Chinachem, said: "In organising this career day, we hope to bring new hope to those whose jobs have been affected by the pandemic, as well as those who wish to make a career change, while also recruiting the best talent for the group's upcoming Central Market Revitalisation Project and other business development plans.

"The Career Day welcomes candidates of different sectors and age groups, including ethnic minorities and those with disabilities, reflecting our mission of building a diverse, harmonious and more habitable city.”
