CIMB Group Holdings has announced a new initiative, Program Satu Pemimpin Satu Kampung (Santuni MADANI), across four Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) in Klang Valley.

Through this programme, introduced on Saturday (8 February 2025), CIMB Group has pledged RM3.6mn over two years to drive long-term, positive impact across Bukit Jalil, Lembah Subang, Perumahan Awam Seri Selangor and Seri Alam. This will impact approximately 9,000 PPR residents as the programme focuses on strengthening capacity building, offering upskilling opportunities, enabling access to quality education and fostering sustainable livelihoods.

Satuni MADANI is a government initiative that brings leaders across federal ministries, agencies, departments, statutory bodies, government-linked investment companies and government-linked companies together to bridge socioeconomic gaps amongst the underserved communities. At the launch of the programme, Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Minister of Finance II, said CIMB’s adoption programme showcases the private sector’s crucial role in uplifting underserved communities and driving meaningful change through the Santuni MADANI initiative.

At the same time, Novan Amirudin, Chief Executive Officer, CIMB Group, highlighted the company's position as a "purpose-driven organisation" that is committed to raising standards by improving the quality of people’s lives, saying he was pleased that the Group was expanding its social finance efforts to do so.

"Through the Programme, we aim to promote self-sufficiency, create lasting positive impact, and ensure equitable access to resources and opportunities for individuals and families to elevate their economic standing," he added.

Through CIMB Foundation and CIMB Islamic Bank, CIMB Group will introduce some initiatives under Satuni MADANI that are tailored to help communities progress as they empower the educational and economic segments. To support participants in generating income, CIMB will offer the following programs targeted to help various areas of the economic front:

  • Program Keusahawanan by CIMB Islamic – provides training resources for budding entrepreneurs.
  • Program iTEKAD CIMB Islamic Rider Entrepreneur – supports gig economy workers through entrepreneurial opportunities
  • MicroBizReady spearheaded by CIMB Foundation – to equip small businesses with essential tools and training to enhance business readiness
  • Upskill training – developing sewing skills to enhance income-generating potential

On the education side, CIMB aims to improve literacy and numeracy. Through CIMB Foundation, school completion rates will set to increase and free tuition to students from B40 families will be offered to ensure they receive quality education for better opportunities and equity enhancements. Additionally, CIMB will continue to take care of basic needs through programs such as Program Bakul Makanan and Back-to-School Programme which delivers essential food items to vulnerable households and provide students with basic school supplies to support their academic journey.
