Eligible seniors and youths in Singapore to receive Seniors' Bonus & AP MediSave top-ups in February

Approximately 850,000 lower-income senior citizens and 2mn Singaporeans are expected to benefit from the cash payout.

Eligible Singaporean senior citizens and individuals aged 20 and below will receive their Assurance Package (AP) Seniors’ Bonus payouts and/or AP MediSave payouts in February.

A press release by the Ministry of Finance (MOF), shared on Wednesday morning (15 January), highlighted that these payouts and top-outs fall in line with the S$1.9bn enhancement to the AP that was announced at Budget 2024. The enhanced AP aims to alleviate the cost-of-living pressures for Singaporean households and to provide extra support for lower-income and middle-income families.

As part of the February 2025 payouts, approximately 850,000 lower-income senior citizens, aged 55 and above will be receiving S$200 to S$300 on as early as 5 February 2025. This will be given to seniors who meet the following criteria:

  • Must be living in Singapore
  • Do not own more than one property
  • Living in properties with Annual Value (AV) of up to S$31,000
  • Not exceeding the Assessable Income (AI) of S$34,000 (based on Year of Assessment 2023, i.e, income earned in 2022)

For more details on the criteria, visit here.

Eligible seniors will receive the payments via PayNow-NRIC or other preferred modes of receiving payment.

As for the AP MediSave top-ups, about 2mn Singaporean citizens aged 20 and below or 55 years and above will receive a S$150 top-up in their Central Provident Fund (CPF) accounts. There are no criteria to meet for AV or AI values to obtain this payout. Citizens can expect the amount to be credited to their CPF accounts from 11 February 2025.

Recipients will receive an SMS or a letter will be mailed out after the benefit has been credited to them. AP MediSave recipients below 16 years old will receive a letter addressed to their parents or guardian informing them of the benefit credited in their child’s CPF account.

MOF reminds citizens to beware of scam messages and not to reply any texts if the notification does not include "gov.sg". No payment messages will be sent through other mobile messaging platforms such as WhatsApp.

For eligibility and other queries, citizens can visit govbenefits.gov.sg and log in via Singpass. For more information regarding the AP Seniors’ Bonus and AP MediSave, citizens may call 1800-2222-888 or visit go.gov.sg/apcontactus.
