As part of these efforts, the new InvestMalaysia portal aims to enable internal and external investors to independently assess Malaysia’s economic prospects and explore investment opportunities the country can offer.
Malaysia stands "ready for a new era of investment", fuelled by a "clear economic vision" and a commitment to attracting high-value, sustainable investments, according to a Bernama article.
As cited in the report, the country’s Minister of Finance II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan has unveiled the government’s plans ahead, emphasising the nation’s potential as a "top-tier investment destination." The launch of the InvestMalaysia portal will aim to further streamline investment processes and provide investors with real-time insights into Malaysia’s dynamic economic landscape.
Further noted by Bernama, key initiatives that will drive investment growth for Malaysia:
- New Investment Incentive Framework: This framework, slated for launch in Q1 2025, will offer attractive tax incentives and strategic investment funds to stimulate both domestic and foreign investment.
- Government investment: Government-linked companies have collectively pledged to channel RM120bn over the next five years in domestic direct investments towards high-growth and high-value industries
- National strategies: The National Semiconductor Strategy (NSS) and the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) highlight Malaysia’s strategic focus on future-oriented industries.
- MADANI Economy framework: This framework, introduced in the 2025 Budget, will continue its focus on reinvigorating the economy, driving reforms, and prospering the nation.
The government's recent launch of the InvestMalaysia portal aims to also provide investors with essential information on investing in Malaysia, and reinforce Malaysia’s standing as a "competitive and appealing investment destination by showcasing opportunities in the country’s financial markets to both domestic and international investors", it was highlighted.
