Malaysia public holiday dates for 2024

The full list of 12 federal and 32 state public holidays in 2024, with six or more long weekends to look forward to in certain territories/states.

The Prime Minister's Office of Malaysia (Jabatan Perdana Menteri) has released the entire calendar of public holidays in Year 2024 for both federal and states. 

The dates of the respective federal and state holidays are listed below.

Federal public holidays 2024

10 February, Saturday: Chinese New Year
Applicable to: Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, Putrajaya, Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, and Terengganu.

11 February, Sunday: Chinese New Year (second day)
Applicable to: Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, Putrajaya, Johor, Kedah, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, and Selangor.

10 April, Wednesday: Hari Raya Puasa*
Applicable to: Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, Putrajaya, Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, and Terengganu.

11 April, Thursday: Hari Raya Puasa (second day)*
Applicable to: Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, Putrajaya, Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, and Terengganu.

1 May, Wednesday: Labour Day

22 May, Wednesday: Vesak Day

3 June, Monday: Yang di-Pertuan Agong's Birthday
Applicable to: Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, Putrajaya, Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, and Terengganu.

17 June, Monday: Hari Raya Qurban (Feast of Sacrifice/Aidiladha)*
Applicable to: Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, Putrajaya, Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, and Terengganu.

18 June, Tuesday: Hari Raya Qurban (second day)*
Applicable to: Kelantan and Terengganu.

7 July, Sunday: Awal Muharam (Maal Hijrah) [Islamic New Year]

31 August, Saturday: National Day/Merdeka Day
