Malaysia to publish whitepaper on its progressive wage policy

Minister of Economy Rafizi Ramli has shared that the government will allocate a certain amount of funds annually to create a wage upliftment ecosystem in the private sector.

Malaysia is looking to publish a white paper on the progressive wage policy

Speaking in Parliament on 19 September 2023, Minister of Economy Rafizi Ramli shared that the government is looking to allocate a certain amount of funds annually to create a wage upliftment ecosystem in the private sector with the aim of increasing workers' wages periodically through implementing the Progressive Wage Policy.

According to Minister Rafizi, the white paper on this progressive salary policy may hopefully be presented in the upcoming council meeting, which can be refined further by the legislative council members.
