MOHE-registered private education institutions in Malaysia to now request support letters for EP applications via Xpats Gateway

Employment Pass applications can be made via ESD Online once the support letter has been obtained from the Ministry.

The Expatriate Services Division (ESD) of Malaysia has announced that effective 10 July 2024 (Wednesday), all private education institutions registered with the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), that require Support Letters for new or renewed Employment Pass (EP) applications, must apply through Xpats Gateway.

Here are the steps to take to submit an application:

  1. Log in to the e-IPTS system (Note: Please ensure registered expatriate teaching staff fill in all mandatory information in the e-IPTS system.)
  2. Companies should log in to Xpats Gateway using the same credentials as they use for ESD Online to request a Support Letter from MOHE.
  3. Upon obtaining a Support Letter from MOHE, proceed to apply for an EP via the ESD Online.

For more detailed information, kindly refer to the process flow and FAQ.

Those who require technical assistance for Xpats Gateway have been directed to contact the MYXpats Helpdesk or call the hotline at +603-7839 7171.
