Over 20,000 jobs generated in Malaysia's manufacturing sector in Q3 2024

In tandem, the median salary also increased from RM2,444 to RM2,645, a growth of 8.2% compared to the same period in 2023.

According to the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry's (MITI) Report Card Announcement for the Third Quarter of 2024, Malaysia's manufacturing sector's added value to GDP increased by 4.7% (RM4.2bn) from the previous year. This further resulted in over 20,000 jobs being generated, up 0.9%.

In tandem, the median salary also increased from RM2,444 to RM2,645, a growth of 8.2% compared to the same period in 2023.

MITI reaffirmed its commitment driving the country's economic growth through the implementation of the New Industrial Master Plan 2030. In this regard, MITI calls for support from the industry and the people to explore more opportunities that can be generated through the implementation of this plan.
