Singapore has the world's second strongest passport

Good news for Singaporean business travellers -  the Singaporean passport has just been ranked as the second strongest in the world.

According to Arton Capital's 2017 Passport Index, Germany took the lead with a visa-free score of 157, allowing holders of the German passport to travel to 157 countries without a visa, or obtain a visa on arrival. While the Lion City overtook South Korea to be ranked second, becoming the highest ranked Asian passport with a Visa-Free Score (VFS) of 156, tied with Sweden.

Following Singapore and Sweden, with a VFS of 155 was Denmark, Finland, France, Spain, Switzerland, Norway, UK, and USA. While the Hong Kong passport was ranked in 18 place with a VFS of 139.

On the other end of the spectrum, Afghanistan came in last in the index with a VFS of 23, followed by Pakistan (VFS of 26), and Iraq (VFS of 28).
