Up the ranks: HR veteran Lim Chee Gay takes on new role as MD of Access Group's KL GOC

Reflecting on his new role, Chee Gay shared with HRO: "I'm excited to work with everyone to grow the business and attract the best talent across APAC for Access."

HR leader Lim Chee Gay has been appointed to the new role of Managing Director, Global Operations Centre (GOC), Kuala Lumpur at business software provider, The Access Group.

Under Chee Gay’s leadership, it is expected that the KL GOC will strengthen its position as a critical hub in The Access Group's global network - with a view to fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

In a statement exclusively to Human Resources Online, the company shared: "This strategic appointment reflects our ambition to build a global backbone of world-class innovation hubs that empower customers, attract top talent, drive advancements in products and AI, accelerate sales growth and deliver operational excellence.

"Our GO Centres in Loughborough, Timișoara, and Kuala Lumpur, are instrumental in driving innovation, enabling faster M&A integration and providing exceptional customer experiences on a global scale."

Reflecting on his new role, Chee Gay shared: "I love Access’ clear vision as a premier technology solutions provider, delivering exceptional value through operational excellence and innovation. I'm excited to work with everyone to grow the business and attract the best talent across APAC for Access."

Most recently, Chee Gay was the Group CHRO and EVP HR at TDCX Group, where he tenured for over seven years. He has also taken on HR leadership roles at AIA, Samsung Electronics, T-Systems, and more. Often called "a business person in the HR world", he brings more than 20 years of experience in HR, manufacturing, IT and supply chain, with expertise in transforming HR outside-in during his career.

He has shared: "What truly motivates me is creating meaningful impact. Whether implementing Industry 4.0 technologies, developing integrated systems that bridge HR with manufacturing operations, or creating sustainable cost management frameworks, I focus on solutions that deliver lasting value."

Beyond the corporate sphere, Chee Gay serves as President of Life Saving Society Malaysia and regularly participates in triathlons. He is also involved with CIPD Malaysia Chapter and is an Adjunct Professor at several universities.
