All employees will enjoy free time on 8 August, and stand a chance to win a laisee by joining an internal contest.

To share the joy of Hong Kong’s big wins at the Paris Olympics with two gold and two bronze medals, local virtual bank ZA Bank has announced 8 August as a holiday for all employees.

This move, according to the bank, aims to allow employees to unwind and enjoy life amidst their busy work schedules, while enjoying the Games and cheering for another Hong Kong athlete, Chris Lo Wai-fung, who will make his debut at the world arena tomorrow (HKT) for the Taekwondo matches.

On the other hand, the bank also encourages employees to take this opportunity to do exercises, whether going to the gym, taking a walk, or participating in activities like yoga, as a way to maintain good health.

To boost employees’ motivation, ZA Bank is organising an internal contest, where colleagues who beat the management team's activity step counts will receive a laisee. The top 10 colleagues will receive additional rewards.

“We are immensely proud of Team Hong Kong’s achievements in the international sports arena. To celebrate this success and to thank all ZA Bank colleagues for their hard work, we decided to throw in a sweetener with an extra day off,” said Ronald Iu, CEO of ZA Bank (pictured below).

“We hope our colleagues will make the most of this break to relax, support the Hong Kong team, and continue participating in our campaigns. Let’s all keep a healthy, positive mindset!”
