Beijing to offer a special visa and immigration inspection facilitation for foreign business visitors

Eligible foreign business personnel can apply for a five-year multiple-entry M visa, allowing stays of up to 180 days per visit.

To provide greater convenience for foreign business visitors travelling to Beijing for commercial and trade purposes, the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality has launched a special visa and immigration inspection facilitation programme in February 2025, marking the first of its kind in the country.

Under this new initiative, eligible foreign business personnel can apply for a five-year multiple-entry M visa, allowing stays of up to 180 days per visit.

This programme is designed for foreign business personnel invited by a qualified Beijing-registered enterprise (referred to as the “inviting organisation”) who need to frequently travel to Beijing to actively engage in commercial and trade activities. Their spouse and children may also benefit from this programme.

Applicants will be exempt from fingerprint collection and may entrust others to apply on their behalf. Only the fee for a one-year multiple-entry visa will be charged.

To apply for the visa, the inviting organisation must register on the official website of the Beijing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and submit their application to the Foreign Affairs Office in the district where they are registered.

Upon approval, the Beijing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office will subsequently issue a Special Visa Invitation Letter for the approved foreign business visitors. The inviting organisation shall then download the letter and send it to the foreign business visitors.

The foreign business visitors shall use the Special Visa Invitation Letter to apply for a visa at the relevant Chinese visa-issuing authorities abroad within three months.

Prior to the visitors’ arrival, the inviting organisation must notify the Beijing General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection at least five calendar days in advance. Immigration inspection facilitation for the visitors will then be arranged upon their entry through Beijing ports.
