HR job moves: Ashok Leyland's new Head of HR, Chubb's APAC leadership appointments, and more

N.V. Balachander and Amanpreet Singh spearhead Ashok Leyland's Head of HR and Head of Sustainability roles

India’s commercial vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland, flagship of the Hinduja Group, in June 2021, has appointed N.V. Balachander, President of HR, Communication and CSR, to the additional role of President of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.

Balachander will continue to handle his existing portfolio of communication, CSR and corporate affairs.

Further, Ashok Leyland has appointed Amanpreet Singh as President & Head of HR. Prior to this role, Singh was the company’s VP of HR.

In his new capacity, Singh will continue to work closely with Hinduja Group HR heads.


Business and technology veteran appointed as Dell Boomi’s GM for Asia

Dell Boomi, a provider of cloud-based integration platform as a service (iPaaS), has appointed HonChew Seetoh as General Manager for Asia. Seetoh reports to Ajit Melarkode, Vice-President Asia-Pacific and Japan, Boomi.

As GM, Seetoh is tasked with expanding the company’s technology investments, and meeting the heightened demand for integration, data management, and workflow solutions.

Prior to his appointment, Seetoh has held roles spanning CIO, consulting, P&L, and more at companies such as Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Cisco Systems, and Deloitte, among others.

He joins Dell Boomi with more than three decades of work experience.

On Seetoh’s appointment, Melarkode shared: “Seetoh is a veteran of the technology industry with extensive vendor and client-side experience,” citing his leadership experience with his previous companies. “This will prove invaluable in building on the momentum we have extended this year.”


Chubb announces three leadership appointments in APAC

Traded property and casualty insurance company Chubb has announced three leadership appointments for its Asia Pacific operations, effective 1 July 2021. They are Edward Ler, Edward Kopp, and Ben Howell.

Edward Ler, previously Country President for Chubb's general insurance business in Korea, has been appointed to the position of Head of Southeast Asia. In his new capacity, Ler will relocate to Singapore, and continue to report to Paul McNamee, Regional President for Asia Pacific, Chubb.

As Head of Southeast Asia, Ler will be responsible for the general management and business results in the six countries of Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

He replaces Glen Browne, who was recently appointed as Division President - Consumer Lines, Asia Pacific.

Taking over Ler’s role as Country President for Chubb's general insurance business in Korea is Edward Kopp, who was most recently Chubb's Regional Head for Accident & Health. Kopp will likewise report to McNamee in his new capacity. He is expected to be in Korea for this new role, subject to regulatory approval.

Ben Howell, Chubb’s former Deputy Regional Head of Accident & Health, will then replace Kopp as Regional Head of Accident & Health, Asia Pacific. He will continue to be based in Singapore, and report to Browne.

In his new role, Howell will be responsible for the management and development of the accident, health and travel insurance business in the region.

"In Asia Pacific, we have a deep pool of talented executives as reflected by the appointments of Edward, Ed and Ben,” McNamee said.

“Ler is a highly experienced insurance professional with a strong track record of success which will be critical to achieve our growth plans for Southeast Asia.

“Korea is strategically vital to our ambitions, particularly in the consumer business, and we are fortunate to have Kopp return to lead our operations there during such an important phase in our expansion.

“Ben is a true professional and proven leader, ideal for such an important role as the Regional Head of Accident & Health. I have every confidence in his abilities and skills to drive sustained growth and profitability in this business."


Chema Aramburu is now Infor’s Executive VP and GM for APAC and Japan

Infor, an industry cloud company, has appointed Chema Aramburu as its Executive Vice-President and General Manager for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).

Based in the company's regional hub in Singapore, starting 1 June 2021, Aramburu will be responsible for Infor's business across ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand, Mainland China, Korea, India and Japan, and drive customer success and satisfaction.

Prior to his new appointment, Aramburu held senior leadership positions in Oracle and SAP, where he played key roles in spearheading cloud adoption across APJ. Most recently, he was VP of Regional Enterprise Sales for Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud, APJ. Aramburu brings with him more than 20 years of experience in IT and cloud operations.

"Chema is a seasoned leader in the IT and cloud industry, with a proven track record in leading business transformations and building successful sales teams," said Kevin Samuelson, Infor CEO.

"We are excited to have him on board to lead Asia Pacific, a region of tremendous opportunity and diversity,” he added.

Speaking on his appointment, Aramburu said: "I am excited to be leading a region that is seeing exponential growth as one of the key engines of the global economy, and where cloud adoption is accelerating rapidly across all sectors."
