HSBC Singapore increases maternity & paternity leave provisions effective 1 September

As part of the enhanced parental leave policies, maternity leave has been extended to 26 weeks, while paternity leave was increased to eight weeks.

HSBC Singapore has recently introduced enhancements to its parental leave policies for employees across the organisation. Effective 1 September 2023 (Friday), it has extended its maternity leave to 26 weeks, an increase from 16 weeks previously, while paternity leave was increased to eight weeks of leave, up from two weeks.

Commenting on the enhancements, Mukul Anand, Head of HR, HSBC Singapore, said: "At HSBC, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for our people and to provide them with the support they need throughout this exciting and important phase of parenthood.

"With the ever-changing needs of our workforce, we must continue to review and enhance our policies to ensure that we are building an inclusive workplace where our employees can thrive at home and at work."
