Cue the spotlight: Finalists of the Employee Experience Awards 2025, Malaysia

Let's celebrate the HR teams who are raising the bar in leadership development, performance management, diversity & inclusion, talent acquisition, and employee wellness.

After much anticipation and a meticulous judging process, Human Resources Online is proud to unveil the shortlist for the Employee Experience Awards 2025, Malaysia!

The prestigious awards programme – now in its fifth edition – honours organisations that have gone above and beyond in redefining the modern workplace, and in strengthening employee engagement, wellbeing, and development across Malaysia.

Organised by Human Resources Online, the Employee Experience Awards is the region’s premier platform dedicated to celebrating HR excellence. It recognises the exceptional efforts of HR teams that continuously raise the bar in areas such as leadership development, performance management, diversity & inclusion, talent acquisition, and employee wellness.

This year’s finalists showcased a wide range of transformative HR initiatives. Common themes emerged around integrating digital tools for employee engagement, personalising the employee journey, and fostering cultures of continuous learning and innovation. Several entries also highlighted progressive approaches to flexible work, mental health support, and building inclusive workplaces.

A panel of 15 esteemed HR leaders meticulously evaluated each submission to ensure a fair, transparent, and rigorous selection process. Their deep industry expertise and discerning judgment were instrumental in identifying the most deserving finalists, elevating the overall calibre of the competition.

"I’m genuinely moved by the authenticity and dedication reflected in the submissions from HR teams across a diverse range of industries,” said Wendy Khek, Head of Human Resources and Operations, Toshiba Sales And Services.

"It’s clear how much passion and effort has gone into building meaningful training and development programmes, engagement initiatives, and wellness strategies. What really stands out is how these aren’t just feel-good projects – they’re making a real impact, from boosting productivity to reducing turnover. It’s inspiring to see HR playing such a vital, value-adding role in driving business success."

Echoing this, Razila Duah, Head of Human Resources, Malaysia, Qualitas Medical Group, noted: "The categories I evaluated highlighted the innovative strategies shaping our profession, driven by a genuine commitment to people. What distinguished the top entries was their ability to seamlessly align vision with execution – transforming HR from a functional support system into a powerful strategic engine. These organisations aren’t just addressing present-day challenges; they’re building legacies that will shape the workforce of tomorrow."

For Alicia Yip, Head of Organisational Development & Culture, Proton, the judging process was a reaffirmation of HR’s evolving role: "It was inspiring to see how impactful HR can be when aligned with business goals. The standout entries didn’t just showcase good intentions – they demonstrated tangible, data-backed results. This experience reinforced my belief that HR must stay focused on outcomes, not just activities. I’m grateful to have played a part in recognising such purposeful, visionary work."
