Johor Port, a member of MMC Group, has signed a three-year memorandum of cooperation (MOC) with Malaysia's Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR) on the implementation of the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programme.
In line with the MTVET Bill 2/2023 meeting on 27 June 2023, the signed MOC will see Johor Port directly involved in the implementation of the nation's TVET programme — with a focus on developing the curriculum and training materials, as well as providing the training facility for the port operations programme, according to Bernama.
As cited in Bernama, Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port, stated: "Johor Port is eager to share and extend its notable experience and expertise in the ports and logistics industry through the facilitation of knowledge transfers and opportunities for industry exposure to elevate the nation's vocational training."
He further affirmed Johor Port's commitment to growing the business responsibly, sustainably, and inclusively. According to Basir, this three-year partnership with the MOHR is a testament to Johor Port's commitment to giving back to the communities, while empowering the industry with good talents.
