In today's fast-paced, resource-rich, and ever-changing business world, how to convert learning into applicable skills has become key to success for both individuals and corporates.

With a team of subject matter experts in training, coaching, and facilitation, corporate training firm Justwork started out in early 2017, and continues to pave the path on experiential learning workshops, team-building events, and bespoke training programmes, all designed to meet the unique needs of each client.

Emphasising "learning by doing", Justwork is not merely delivering content, but prioritising learners' experience and engagement.

One of its most impactful projects over the past year was a workshop series engaging 4,000 junior to mid-level supervisors and managers. Designed to be both engaging and fun, the workshops focused on mental health, empathy, cross-generational communication, and team bonding. Group dialogues with senior executives were also included.

To maximum the impact, Justwork has employed diverse approaches, such as guru sharing, experiential activities, workshops, and ‘World Café’. A unique programme dubbed 'Theatrical Challenge' has also been introduced.

Led by renowned artist Hoffman Cheng Sai-ho (pictured below), participants of the programme will engage in an immersive theatrical challenge, collectively creating and resolving conflicts within a drama story. Through a strengths-based leadership approach featuring interactive role play and debriefing sessions, the programme helps participants enhance their conflict management skills and foster a positive workplace culture focused on collaboration and creativity.

Another new programme introduced in 2024 was 'Happiness Map'. Designed to cultivate happiness and purpose, this programme involves a roadmap-drawing exercise where participants map moments of happiness and success in their careers.

This reflective exercise, linked to positive psychology, encouraged participants to share, equipping them with a personalised roadmap and a deeper understanding of their purpose, and enhancing their wellbeing and commitment to their roles.

All these approaches cannot be made possible without a deep understanding of clients. Apart from close observation of the market, trends, and technology, Justwork dedicates eight to 12 weeks to understanding the needs of each client. Acknowledging clients' ROI pressures, the firm also offers evaluation tools to measure the success and tangible impact of each session. For example, it uses the Kirkpatrick Model (Levels 1 to 3) to gauge reactions, learning outcomes, and behavioural changes, ensuring value for both participants and stakeholders.

While the firm values knowledge and industry experience, it treasures co-creation even more. Therefore, Justwork not only collaborates with experts in different aspects, but also co-creates and co-designs with clients to customise every programme to fit their specific needs. By offering genuine value through tailored solutions, the team aims to drive lasting change, create long-term impact, and make continuous innovation a reality.

Employees are another substantial factor in its success. Treating employees as partners, Justwork's management philosophy revolves around empowerment, transparency, and relentless improvement.

As such, the firm has set clear and actionable goals, provides ongoing feedback, and champions open communication, with a dedication to creating an environment where employees truly feel valued and are empowered to achieve their best. By aligning the team with shared objectives, Justwork ensures everyone understands how their efforts drive the organisation’s success.

Looking towards 2025, when Justwork celebrates its eighth anniversary, the firm will shift its focus to programme creation, with plans underway to revamp key programmes and introduce certification training to further support in-house HR professionals.

Another exciting milestone awaits in Q1 2025 – and that will be its new office, where private tasters of Justwork’s flagship tools will be held, such as the ‘TYCOON’ business simulation board game and ‘DISC Maps’. Some other tools to anticipate are those with a focus on mental health and self-care.

Wrapping up a meaningful year in 2024, Kayley Lo, Co-Founder & Director, Justwork (pictured below, second from the right), says: "We deeply appreciate the trust our clients place in us, allowing us to craft meaningful moments together. Their belief in our vision continues to inspire us to innovate and deliver impactful experiences.

"Stay tuned as we unveil even more innovative solutions this year!"
