“The primary task of my role is to help create a high performing culture that allows our people to solve our client’s biggest business problems in creative ways,” Stone shares.

Wunderman Thompson, a global marketing communications firm, has appointed Robert Stone as Chief People Officer.

Based in Richmond, Victoria, Stone was most recently Chief Talent Officer, Australia, at advertising agency McCANN Australia.

Speaking to Human Resources Online on his core responsibilities in the new role, Stone said: “The writing is on the tin! I’m here to make support Wunderman Thompson’s People and make it a great place to work! The primary task of my role is to help create a high performing culture that allows our people to solve our client’s biggest business problems in creative ways.”

He added:

Over the past 12-18 months all businesses have gone through significant change that has impacted ways of working for our people. The primary focus for the coming year is to double down on the most important aspect of our business; our people!

Apart from sharing about his new role, Stone also touched on the top talent concern facing the industry, as well as Australia at the moment, noting that there are “a number of concerns and issues at the moment due to the current climate that we’re living in.”

“It has been really hard to create a culture whilst living in a virtual world. There certainly has been some positives around accelerating flexible working arrangements, however, the challenge we now have is how to we create a blended model that works for every staff member as well as the business.”
