In the list, digital & AI fluency and sustainability awareness have been labelled as emerging game-changers in the job market.

The new Impact Study by TalentCorp Malaysia has revealed the most the sought-after skills in the current local workforce. The study covered the areas of the AI, digital, and green economy, identifying 10 basic skills and 848 specific skills that are essential across 10 sectors.

The top 10 in-demand basic skills are as follows:

  1. Adaptability and resiliency
  2. Communication
  3. Digital & AI fluency
  4. Innovative thinking
  5. Sustainability awareness
  6. Cognitive skills
  7. Critical thinking
  8. Empathy
  9. Learning agility
  10. Teamwork and collaboration

In the list, digital & AI fluency and sustainability awareness have been labelled as emerging game-changers in the job market. Consequently, communication, critical thinking, empathy and teamwork are key skills identified for leaders to have in order to lead effectively.
