Ahead of the succession, Pragashini has begun learning the ropes since 13 January this year, immersing herself in the organisation’s business and leading a range of initiatives that the organisation is launching.
Pragashini Fox (pictured above) is set to become Manulife's Chief People Officer on 1 June 2025, following the retirement of incumbent Chief Human Resources Officer Pam Kimmet in May 2025.
In preparing for the succession, Pragashini has begun learning the ropes since 13 January this year, immersing herself in the organisation’s business and connecting with the global team, according to an update by President and CEO Roy Gori. She will also be leading a range of initiatives that the organisation is launching, to "continue raising the bar on our culture and talent agenda," Roy pointed out.
Pragashini's experience dates back to her past roles in Thomson Reuters, where she most recently served as Head of Talent and Diversity, and Head of HR for Product, Operations, and Technology for six years. Prior to that, she spent 19 years with Bank of Canada, in various leadership roles in executive compensation, talent management, and leadership development, and as the Head of HR for Technology, along with HR roles supporting operations, capital markets, insurance, and group functions.
Roy described Pragashini as someone who "has a passion for helping global teams embrace a growth-mindset and foster the tenacity and resilience to reach for new heights."
Having served her time in Manulife as a Board member in 2016 and turned CHRO two years later, Pam has led five global companies across the financial, healthcare, technology and consumer product sectors. Additionally, she was elected a Fellow in the National Academy of Human Resources in 2009, recognising her leadership and expertise.
