This comes as part of the Board's digitalisation of its taxation services, and the transition is expected to be completed by 1 January 2024.
The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia, or HASiL) will begin mandating the use of e-services for taxation services through the MyTax Portal gateway from next Friday, 1 September 2023.
According to the Board, this move comes in line with technological transformation and the digitalisation if its taxation services, and in support of the governments aspirations to increase the number of services that are fully online, end-to-end. The transition for HASiL is expected to be completed by 1 January 2024.
The list of mandatory e-services can be found here, while a guide on using the e-services can be found on the MyTax Portal (look for 'User Guide').
In addition to the above, HASiL also advised taxpayers to switch to its End-to-End (E2E) service for all transactions, including instances where individuals are making payments online, to ensure all transactions are safely recorded.
