Malaysia's Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Tengku Zafrul Aziz, has shared an update on Vietnamese companies who are planning to expand their business relationships with Malaysian companies.

In a post on Sunday, the Minister noted three companies, along with their plans:

First, Northern Industrial Chemicals, said to be the largest methanol distributor in Vietnam, is looking to import more methanol from Malaysia.

The second company is TH Health Pharma, a nutrition manufacturer looking to import raw materials and seek collaborative opportunities with companies in Malaysia.

On this, Minister Zafrul shared: "I invite them to visit the Malaysian International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2023 which will be held on 12-15 September, to explore the potential of the halal industry in Malaysia."

Last, is Van Long CDC Investment Trading, a chemical/petrochemical company that has an ongoing partnership with PETRONAS, and is looking for opportunities to expand their business relationship with Malaysia.

Minister Zafrul's update comes following an official visit to Vietnam, alongside Minister of Foreign Affairs Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and accompanying Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

According to MalayMailthe two-day visit saw the strengthening of Malaysia-Vietnam diplomatic relations, and also "initiated the exploration of various new sectors of interest for both countries."

This, the report noted, includes the halal industry, defence and security, agriculture, education, as well as human capital development.
