SingPost to lay off 45 employees primarily in corporate functions amid restructuring efforts

To support the affected employees, the company is providing outplacement and counselling services during this transition period.

SingPost's ongoing restructuring process will affect approximately 45 positions primarily in corporate support units, with a small number from the International Business Unit whose roles have evolved.

In a statement shared with HRO, a SingPost spokesperson explained that the restructruing is to "right-size and devolve corporate functions to its business units." The goal is to enhance operational efficiency by eliminating duplicate roles and improving agility within the organisation.

The spokesperson said SingPost has made efforts to find alternative positions within the company for those impacted. To support the affected employees, the company is providing outplacement and counselling services during this transition period.

This decision is said to come in response to prolonged macro-economic challenges, including intense competition in the logistics & postal sector. The spokesperson emphasised that this restructuring is not related to any previous incidents or whistleblowing reports, adding that the company's focus remains on maintaining the strength and sustainability of its operations.

"We are committed to managing this process with utmost care for our employees involved," they shared.
