Unravel Data planning to double headcount in Hyderabad to 50 by mid-2024

The data observability platform currently has 100 employees in India, of which 25 are based in Hyderabad.

California-headquartered Unravel Data is looking to boost headcount in India, by doubling the current workforce of 25 in Hyderabad to 50 by mid-2024, in a bid to expand operations for local customers. The organisation, which apart from Palo Alto has offices in London, Bangalore and Hyderabad, presently has an employee strength of 100 in India.

Speaking exclusively with HRO, Giriraj Bagdi, VP Engineering Operations, Unravel Data, said the company is hiring mostly for roles in big data operations, customer success, automation engineers, full stack engineers, and data scientists. He added that strong technical skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team, are on the recruitment team's wishlist.

On the actual recruitment process, the team is looking to start out with an online screening interview, post which there are a minimum of two technical interviews to gauge job fitment. Bagdi shares: "We have found that the most effective way to find qualified candidates is through referrals and reaching out to potential candidates on LinkedIn. We also post our jobs on our website. However, we have also found that reaching out to and meeting potential candidates at conferences and events can be an effective way to generate leads."

He stresses on the need to promote diversity in the hiring pool. "To promote diversity, Unravel actively seeks out candidates from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. We also offer unconscious bias training to our employees to help them identify and overcome their own biases," he affirms.

Speaking on the hiring announcement at a recent company-hosted conference, Unravel Co-founder and CTO Shivnath Babu, noted that Hyderabad is a strategic location for the company. "This is why we are not only committed to growing our team and operations in Hyderabad, but also to serve the local tech community through world-class learning and networking opportunities."

Bagdi noted that the most important talent challenge that Unravel currently faces is finding qualified candidates with strong execution skills. He adds: "We are also looking to attract more AI talent, as the world is moving towards a more AI-driven future."

On its website, the organisation talks about providing unlimited paid-time-off (PTO) for employees, in addition to benefits such as access to a gym, snacks and meals, led by Kunal Agarwal as CEO and Co-Founder.
