Glassdoor has revealed the top-performing CEOs during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic – as well as a list of commonly held leadership attributes.
Common traits among the most highly rated CEOs during COVID-19 include: Prioritising work-life balance, looking after employees’ overall well-being, offering workable and flexible and/or remote working policies, establishing strong health benefits, and maintaining frequent and clear channels of communication.
It’s during this most uniquely challenging of times that a genuine leader really shows his or her true colours. This year in particular, CEOs have had to make a range of difficult decisions given the depth and duration of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Stand out leaders have ensured employees have felt supported and taken care of throughout most of 2020, working with their organisations to prioritise the health and safety of their workforce, while also making smart choices for the organisations they lead.
Since the onset of the pandemic, CEO of US-based Mark Aslett has received strong praise for his leadership, according to employee feedback on Glassdoor, rising to the top of the list in that country based on outstanding feedback from employees on how well-taken care of they felt during COVID-19.
Eric Yuan, CEO of Zoom – a company which has gained enormous relevance as it has become a common way for people to communicate – has also been very highly regarded by employees during the ongoing.
In the UK, Steve Hare, CEO of multinational software firm Sage, ascended to the top spot with employees giving feedback on his exemplary communications skills and buy-in from upper management.
High-profile tech CEOs Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook and Marc Benioff of Salesforce, were also singled out for their leadership skills during the pandemic by their UK-based employees.
