In this role, Swati returns to Malaysia after a decade of working in Switzerland, Singapore, and Hong Kong, whereby she played various regional and global HR leadership roles.
International tobacco company Philip Morris (Malaysia) (PMM) has appointed Swati Chawla as its Director of People & Culture. In this role, she is responsible for driving effective leadership, building skills of the future, and bringing about a cultural shift towards employee wellbeing and business growth.
For this role, Swati returns to Malaysia after a decade of working in Switzerland, Singapore, and Hong Kong, whereby she played various regional and global HR leadership roles across industries such as consumer goods, pharmaceutical, agriculture, and ITES.
Immediately prior, she was Director of Organisation Effectiveness, at Philip Morris International's regional office in Hong Kong.
She brings over 21 years of experience in HR to the fore, two of which were spent in a consulting firm in Malaysia, and her priority here will be to oversee PMM People & Culture function with focus on building ‘fit to purpose’ evolved ways of working.
Her appointment was announced in tandem with the appointment of Andrew Lee as Senior Counsel, who will be tasked as the driving force for the company's legal function, and a voice towards PMM's vision of a smoke-free future.
