Stepping into her new role on 1 July 2024, the leader will play a vital role in delivering on the commitments the firm has made to enhance its culture.

PwC Australia has announced that Karen Lonergan will be its new Chief People Officer, effective 1 July 2024.

As one of the firm's management leadership team members, Lonergan will play a vital role in delivering on the commitments the firm has made to enhance its culture, as outlined in its 'Action Plan'.

The leader brings over 25 years of experience to PwC, working for an array of industries, leading people, culture, and engagement teams at a number of iconic Australian organisations. In these roles, she has implemented transformational programmes across a range of business stages and cycles, aiding in positioning large corporations to grow and maintain long-term success.

Kevin Burrowes, CEO, PwC Australia affirmed that Karen "will bring a wealth of knowledge to the role at an important time for the firm and its people."

“We are thrilled to welcome Karen to the firm. She has a strong track record of delivering exceptional results at some of Australia’s largest leading companies," Burrowes commented.

He added that Karen would be an asset to the organisation's leadership team and "is the right person to ensure the steps we have taken to date are comprehensively embedded into the fabric of the firm."

Speaking on her appointment, Lonergan said: "I am excited to be joining an organisation which is committed to enhancing its culture and has placed a strong emphasis on people experience.

“Having worked across a wide range of sectors and companies, I am energised by the opportunity to apply my skills in a new environment.

"As the firm continues to make progress on its commitments to change, I look forward to contributing to its continued growth and success."
